Sorry for the lack of updated of late but I've been rather busy. Kingfisher Hide Workshops:-
There is a small delay in the opening of the hide due to unforseen circumstances.
We hope this will be rectified in the next week or so.
Yes, the kingfishers are still there before anyone asks!Studio Update:-
As you are probably aware, I am renting the studio out to a small group of models and a photographer, for them to hold their events.
I am still using my studio and will be holding Studio Lighting Workshops
and Model Studio Days.
The first Studio Lighting Workshop
is planned for Sunday 31st May.
The 1st workshop is aimed at novice to intermediate photographers who wish to gain experience with studio work.
An advanced workshop
is planned for June.
Please contact me for more details.

Another very busy week getting the studio ready or the Model Studio Day which is being hosted by David and the team that have joined me.
Kingfishers have completely gone mad this week.
Having spent the best part of 30 hours in the hide this week, it was one of those moments that will stay with me.
I have never had a pair of kingfishers on the same perch together until now.
One male spent over half an hour on the perch, diving to get his snacks every so often.
He was joined by a female who both posed for the camera for what seemed like an hour.
The same happened the next day where there participated in a little courtship ritual.
The male dived and cought a fish. Back on the perch, the female demanded his catch.
They moved together and the male passed it to her. Stunning.
On the day of the eclipse, it was very different.
One male showed twice at first light and then they must have decided to call it a day.
This gave me the chance to get some shots of the eclipse from my hide.
I used a 10 stop ND filter which was just about right as a little cloud cover assisted in reducing the amount of light hitting the sensor.
Thats all for now.
Pictures of the studio day to follow.
Thanks for reading.

It has been an excellent week so far.
The birds have taken very well to the new hide and are using the perch several times a day. One female bird in particular was on the perch for over 10 mins before diving for fish! She returned a few mins later to spend another 5 mins on the perch.
All of this was at first light with a superb low sun. Perfect for photography!
I am planning to open the Kingfisher Photography Workshops in late April or early May so if you want to be one of the first to use the hide, please contact me.
This is open to all photographers including novice, as I will also be available to assist if required to ensure you get the best from the day.
Equipment hire will also be available. More details to follow.
Thanks for reading.

Finally my long awaited new web site goes live.
It has taken quite a while to do and there is still work to do on it.
After many years and several outside company's stating that they can build a superb site for me, well, the amount of time spent telling them what I want and so on, it was best that I just got my head in gear and did it myself.
After all said and done, I was a UK technical support manager with that much info packed into a 200TB brain hard drive. Equally, it has taken 5 years to delete and format all that garbage stored up there.
Maybe now I can dedicate my time to doing what I love most of all. Taking pictures, studio work, tuition and photo workshops.

Feb 2015 has been quite busy for the business.
I secured a deal with a land owner to host Kingfisher Workshop on.
This is something that I have wanted to do for many years but as of now, have never found a suitable site.
The next month will be equally very busy setting up the hide and features that go with the workshops.
More details will be available soon.
